Case Study: Hamptons Coastal Project — Designing a Cohesive, Elevated Home

Interior Design That Transformed a House into a Home

At Lifestyle Design Co., our mission is to create homes that feel like a sanctuary — spaces that reflect your style, enhance everyday living, and bring lasting joy. Our Hamptons Coastal Project is a perfect example of how thoughtful interior design can elevate not just a home, but a lifestyle.

The Client Brief

We were engaged by a professional couple who had built their dream home with the intention of creating a Hamptons-style, coastal interior. While they had the right vision, the execution had missed the mark — furniture choices felt disconnected, and the overall home lacked flow and consistency.

They came to Lifestyle Design Co. looking to:

  • Create a consistent and elevated aesthetic throughout their home

  • Ensure their investment in furnishings and finishes felt worthwhile

  • Avoid making further costly or misaligned decisions

The Interior Design Process

At our initial consultation, it became clear the current furniture didn’t align with their coastal Hamptons vision. We suggested selling the existing pieces via a local marketplace — advice they were unsure about at first, but quickly embraced once the furniture sold faster than expected.

With the home now a blank canvas, we guided them through a considered design process. While they were eager for a quick turnaround, we explained the value of taking time to make intentional, cohesive decisions. The result? A beautifully layered, timeless space they now love coming home to.

What We Delivered

Our complete interior design service included:

  • Mood boards and curated furniture selections for every room

  • 3D renders showcasing the overall palette, layout, wallpapers, and custom wainscoting design

  • End-to-end project coordination — ordering, deliveries, and final styling

We created a fully cohesive design that reflected the Hamptons Coastal aesthetic the clients had originally envisioned, while ensuring functionality and flow throughout the home.

The Value of Working with an Interior Designer

Many clients wonder: Is it worth hiring an interior designer?

This project answers that clearly.

  • Total spend on furnishings & trades (with our trade discounts): $31,250

  • Our design fee: $11,000

  • Estimated retail value of same furnishings at full RRP: ~25–30% higher

Without our trade sourcing and guidance, the clients would have likely paid significantly more — and still risked repeating the same mistakes.

But the value didn’t stop at savings:

  • A fully resolved design that avoided further missteps

  • Hours saved through expert decision-making and logistics

  • Access to trade-only furniture and higher-quality suppliers

  • A seamless, stress-free experience from start to finish

The result? A home that now feels intentionally designed, beautifully styled, and reflective of the clients’ lifestyle and vision. They’ve since engaged us to furnish their holiday home — a future retirement escape — a true testament to the trust built through the process.
